Workforce Scholarships offered in Healthcare

GREENVILLE, Mississippi – Through a partnership with Grant Allied Healthcare and Training Institute, the Washington County Economic Alliance (WCEA) is excited to announce workforce training scholarships in the healthcare industry for residents of Washington County.

“We are proud to be working with Grant Allied Healthcare & Training Institute to create a talent pool in the healthcare industry,” said Will Coppage, Executive Director of the WCEA.  “Furthermore, with Delta Health System, our largest employer, and the medical industry as one of the largest employment sectors, healthcare careers are the backbone of Washington County,”

Working closely with area employers, Grant Allied offers Pharmacy Technician and Medical Assistant training programs customized to help residents get the training and certification they need to start a new career.

Classes offered by Grant Allied Healthcare and Institute include:

Medical Assistant: Wednesdays 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm; 14 weeks
Pharmacy Technician: Mondays and Tuesdays 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm; 12 weeks

Lanivea Fowler, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grant Allied Healthcare and Training Institute is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the WCEA. “The institute has been open for three years now and is progressing well, “said Fowler. “This partnership with the Washington County Economic Alliance will open our programs to even more people throughout the county.
