FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WCEA Receives Entergy Grant for Marketing Buildings and Sites

Greenville, MS – The Washington County Economic Alliance (WCEA) is pleased to announce that on Friday, May 12, 2017, Entergy awarded the WCEA with matching funds from their EXCELLERATOR grant program to go towards the Washington County Digital Marketing Initiative (WCDMI). Entergy made their announcement at their annual Entergy EXCITED Event, which was held this year in Greenwood.

The WCDMI will be a vital component of industrial recruiting that will enable greater marketing of Washington County’s current building and site portfolio (6 sites, 11 buildings) through short (under two-minutes), building/site specific digital videos.

“The WCEA is pleased that Entergy saw the value in our grant application and have agreed to support our marketing efforts,” said WCEA Executive Director Cary Karlson.

As more and more site selectors (pre)research an area before considering a site visit, the need to create visual appealing and informative marketing videos exist to present an accurate representation of the buildings and sites assets of Washington County. These videos can easily be shared through industry databases, social media sites and email, as well as by site selectors with their clients.

Other organizations that have partnered with the WCEA to provide funding support are the Port of Greenville, MS Levee Board, and Cooperative Energy. The collaborative effort of the WCDMI will enable and strengthen the dissemination of information to site selectors and economic developers.

Entergy Mississippi has long been an advocate of community and economic development throughout our service territory by providing resources to local organizations responsible for economic development through staff support, technical assistance and direct funding. To maximize resources, Entergy Mississippi chose to partner with local communities on this effort and increase the effectiveness of local economic development programs. The EXCELLERATOR Program was designed to allow every organization to engage in the process that wants to systematically improve its effectiveness.
