Jun 22, 2017

The thirteen members of the Washington County Economic Alliance’s Leadership Class of 2016-2017 graduated June 21, 2017 at the Greenville Golf and Country Club.  They were led this year by instructors, Janet Benzing with DRMC and John Montfort Jones with Delta Group, both former graduates of Leadership Washington County. Their final class project was to make improvements at the permanent location of Camp Looking Glass. Congratulations again Class of 2016-2017!

The WCEA is currently accepting nominations for the class of 2017-2018 Leadership Washington County.  We are asking businesses to nominate an individual or individuals from their business to participate in this very valuable program that educates participants about all areas of the community and hones leadership skills.  Classes begin in September and celebrate with a graduation in June 2018.

The goal of Leadership Washington County is to develop the next generation of active leaders for Washington County.  Local business decision-makers, agri-business, government agencies, schools, and non-profit organizations participate in this 9 month program devoted to regional economic and social issues for Washington County. Classes will be held once a month and will usually fall on the middle Wednesday.  Graduates of Leadership Washington County go on to contribute to Washington County’s economic and cultural vitality.

Please note that this is a commitment from both the employer and the employee for the class year.  Two excused absences are allowed for each participant to graduate.  The fee of $300 per participant is to be paid by the employer.  Please complete the nomination form and return it to the WCEA by Friday, August 25, 2017.  The nominated individual(s) will then be sent an application.   Space is limited, so don’t delay!

If you have any questions about the leadership class or need additional information, please contact Chamber Director, Debra Wintory, by e-mailing dwintory@wceams.com or by calling 662.378.3141.
